A friend pointed me to this great video “A brief history of China”, by Kristofer Schipper. I really like his down to earth views on the subject and the many misconceptions about China that can arise (and have happened historically) from trying to view it through a Western lense.

Now that Is an interesting find. I’ll see if I can watch the entire series.
The notion that the West created what we think of as the Chinese religions is singular.Of course, I think his “perspectives” need to to be tempered with context, but I did not detect much conflict with context.
Truly interesting and thought provoking. It may change my entire perception of all things Chinese.
